Business Fraud
Business Email Compromise
BEC scams target businesses through compromised or spoofed executive emails, redirecting payments worth millions to criminal accounts.
How BEC Scams Work
Criminals either hack into executive email accounts or create convincing lookalikes. They study company communications, then send emails to finance staff requesting urgent wire transfers or changes to payment details.
These emails appear to come from the CEO, CFO, or trusted suppliers. The amounts involved are often very large - tens or hundreds of thousands of euros.
